Start at the Free Trade, a 15-minute walk east along the Quayside from the Tyne Bridge, and finish on Stepney Bank, about 12 minutes from Manors Metro.

Brinkburn St to the Cumberland Arms is a steep climb up Byker Bank; the walk back down to the Ship on Stepney Bank is easier.

Food: Brinkburn St and the Tyne Bar have full kitchens, and the Ship's menu is all vegan.

Optional extra: Full Circle Brew Co's big glass-fronted taproom at Hoults Yard (Walker Road, NE6 2HL) is about 15 minutes' walk east of the Free Trade and opens Wednesday to Sunday; Full Circle also opened a pub in Fenwick in the city centre in October 2026.

**Alcohol-free and pacing:** ask at the bar for alcohol-free beers and soft drinks, and remember a half is always fine. Eat along the way, drink water between stops, and skip a stop whenever you like. [More tips](https://thecraftbeercrawl.com/responsible-drinking/).
