## What it's known for

Not beer: Porto Cruz's Port wine centre in a restored 18th-century building on the Gaia riverside. It has a wine shop and tasting room on the ground floor, exhibitions, the deCastro Gaia restaurant, and the Terrace Lounge 360º rooftop bar, which looks over the Douro to the Ribeira and serves Port and Port cocktails. The terrace is open Tuesday to Saturday 12:30pm to midnight and Sunday 12:30pm to 7pm.

Closed on Monday. The shop and tasting room are open Tuesday to Sunday from 11am to 7pm from November to March, and to 8pm Tuesday to Saturday from April to October.

Check opening hours with the venue before you go: they change, especially early in the week.
