  4. Walsh's

    6 Stoneybatter, Dublin 7, D07 A382

Victorian heritage pub trading since 1826: a proper snug with a hatch to the bar, stained glass, an open fire and a famously good pint. A traditional local rather than a craft bar, though it keeps a couple of Irish craft lines (Trouble and Kinnegar have featured).

  5. The Glimmer Man

    14–15 Stoneybatter, Dublin 7, D07 RK37

Family-run local since 1989 in an 1880s pub, with every wall and ceiling crammed with memorabilia, a jukebox, a big back lounge and a beer garden. Traditional rather than craft-led, but it stocks Irish craft from Trouble, Kinnegar, Whiplash, Hope and Larkin's alongside the usual pints.

  6. L. Mulligan Grocer

    18 Stoneybatter, Dublin 7, D07 KN77

Pioneering craft gastropub with a strong Irish craft and whiskey list.

  7. The Belfry

    37 Stoneybatter, Dublin 7, D07 X029

    Rotating independent Irish taps.

Walsh's and The Glimmer Man are classic Stoneybatter locals rather than craft bars. Come for the pubs themselves, with a craft tap or two on. The Glimmer Man is cash only.

Alcohol-free and pacing: ask at the bar for alcohol-free beers and soft drinks, and remember a half is always fine. Eat along the way, drink water between stops, and skip a stop whenever you like. More tips.
