Newcastle upon Tyne Craft Beer Crawl
Newcastle packs a lot of good beer into a small, walkable city. The Ouseburn Valley, ten minutes east of the Quayside, has brewery taprooms and classic free houses within a few hundred metres of each other, while the city centre mixes micropubs, a Grade II-listed Victorian bar and a brewpub under the Tyne Bridge, with Wylam Brewery's taproom in the Palace of Arts at Exhibition Park as a grand starting point. Some well-known names have gone since 2023, including the Split Chimp micropub on Westgate Road. These self-guided crawls only use venues we checked as open in October 2026. Several taprooms open Thursday to Sunday only, so check the times on each route.
